A prayer in time of war

O God, who puttest an end to wars, and by the power of thy protection, vanqishest the opposers of such as trust in thee, help thy servents, who earnestly crave thy mercy : that the evil designs of our enemies being defeated, we may praise thee with incessant gratitude : May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
